Digital Archive Retrieval System (DARS)
BBI has developed a fully searchable digital library facility known as DARS.

darsThis allows companies, associations, records offices, publications and a range of other organisations to save printed material into digital format for archiving, research or as a potential revenue stream. Researchers can source and view digital files of any printed material via the organisation's website, avoiding the need to search through pages of irrelevant papers to find the specific information they require.

Features of DARS include:

  • Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to bulk scan all types of printed material, diagrams, photographs and illustrations
  • Produces easy-to-access online searchable archives
  • Ideal for material produced before the introduction of digital artwork (early 1990s)
  • Fully scaleable function that can expand to incorporate new data
  • Suitable for applications in intranet, extranet and password protected zones
  • Can save in range of digital formats including PDF, HTML, Word, PageMaker and Powerpoint
