A website can look great and still fail to convert. This is because users may struggle to interact with your site.

A brand redesign can feel like a balancing act. On one side, there is the need to modernise, stay relevant, and respond to changes in the market. On the other, there is the risk of alienating existing customers by moving too far away from what made the brand recognisable and trusted in the first place.

CMS training is often seen as a technical extra, but in reality it delivers practical benefits across a wide range of roles and organisations.

For most businesses, especially in B2B, it can be better to post less often with something worth saying than to post frequently just to fill the feed.

Twitter unveils X logo

New twitter logo

Twitter's CEO, Linda Yaccarino, has unveiled a new logo for the social media platform, featuring a white X on a black background, to replace its iconic blue bird. The change is part of a larger rebranding effort initiated by Twitter's owner, Elon Musk, who aims to create a "super app" called "X" - a new kind of social media platform he has been discussing for months.

In a tweet on Monday morning, Yaccarino announced the arrival of "X" with the message "X is here! Let's do this." As part of the rebranding, the traditional term "tweets" will be replaced by "x's," according to Musk's vision.

Elon Musk has already changed his profile picture to the new "X" logo and added "X.com" to his Twitter bio. He believes that the replacement of the Twitter brand with "X" should have been done a long time ago. The CEO has even renamed the business to X Corp in line with the new direction.

The Twitter bird, affectionately known as Larry, was initially named as a tribute to basketball legend Larry Bird, according to co-founder Biz Stone's explanation in 2011. However, Musk is determined to move away from the bird imagery entirely, projecting the new "X" branding onto Twitter headquarters in San Francisco.

But how will this rebranding work out? And which social media platform should businesses be using?

The first question will be answered in time, but the second one is something we have talked about in some detail. Back in April 2023, in our article relating to different social media channels, we said that:

“New social media channels are continually thrusting their way into the online environment to compete for audiences with platforms that have, in 21st century terms, been around for a pretty long time. So the answer to the question “What social media should a business use?” is an ever expanding one.”

The change of branding for twitter only goes to show the fast moving pace within the world of social media. If you are unsure of what this branding change means for your business, or would like help with your social media marketing, please get in touch with us now
